Astrid Lindgren

Astrid Lindgren (1907-2002) is Sweden's most internationally renowned author and one of the most widely read children's book authors in the world. She became famous with Pippi Longstocking in 1945 and wrote a total of 34 chapter books and 41 picture books, which together have sold a staggering 170 million copies and been translated into over 100 languages.
